Growing up in a family of creative writers, I fully appreciate the process of committing ideas and expressions in book form. Whether compiling poetry, a manuscript, family history, or chronicling a special event in life, I’m excited to contribute to the professional design and production of your work.

A number of factors are going to directly impact the cost of your book. Since I approach every book as a unique, completely custom project, your input at this step will greatly benefit the quotation process. Following are some items to consider:

  1. How much and what type of content will be included?
  2. What quantity of books do you want to print?
  3. Are all of the photos/diagrams color- or tonally-adjusted to your satisfaction?
  4. Would you like to have digital editing (for instance, brightening eyes; smoothing fabric; removing stray hairs; digitally removing poles, signs, obstructions from image; etc.) completed on any of your images?
  5. Do you need any copy editing support?
  6. What type of book style are you seeking?
    • cover: softbound, hardbound, specialty materials (such as leather, silk, acrylic, metal, etc.)
    • page type: coffee table book or rigid pages (flush/hinge mount)
    • other special considerations: eco-friendly, an unusual/unique size, a matching presentation box
  7. And, since so many different types of printing options and suppliers are available at price points across the board, it will be extremely helpful to know your overall budget, so LifeChapter can best match it to a book manufacturer/process/style.

Once we’ve established those key guidelines, I’ll provide a customized quotation along with a design agreement. If you’re happy with what you see, your order initiates upon receipt of your signed contract and payment according to the terms outlined in your proposal; Visa and MasterCard happily accepted.

LifeChapter Design will custom prepare your book’s design according to your design preference and the selected press’s specifications.

Turn-around to the first book design varies by project, and will be communicated to you in advance. The design proof will be provided to you as a PDF; built-in proofing tools make it very simple to communicate any necessary changes. All LifeChapter book designs automatically qualify for up to three (3) rounds of reviews (i.e. you’ll have up to three opportunities to make changes to your book’s design and/or content).

Once the book design is approved and, if applicable, any remaining balance is paid, I’ll deliver everything to the press that will be printing your book. Manufacturing and delivery turnaround varies greatly by printer; this information will be provided to you during the quotation process.

You receive your finished book. Pat yourself on the back… you’re published!
