Studio sample album designs… I love ‘em! Vanessa contacted me with an incredible collection of images from Kristin and J’s wedding and subsequent “trash the dress” session. Such incredible locations… a designer’s dream! I balanced white space, areas of solid color, and a gorgeous graphic embellishment that subtly echoes lines in Kristin’s bouquet.

Elisabeth & Damien – wedding album

Designing an album for self-described rockabilly sweethearts Elisabeth and Damien, they specifically asked that I intersperse faded images and “pow!” moments into its pages. Drawing inspiration from Elisabeth’s dress and oh-so-elegant orchid bouquet (l-o-v-e!), I combined a refined design with hints of edgy texture and vintage photo border treatments reminiscent of those you’d find stashed in your grandparents’ attic. It’s an interesting balance that totally works!

Erika & Tyler – wedding album

I just have to say that I love working with so many awesome photographers. And Liz with L Photographie can always be counted on to put a big smile on my face… her studio blog is one of the most entertaining things out there on the interweb… always gets a giggle out of me. Especially the entry for Erika and Tyler’s wedding. This album is one of my favorites we’ve worked on together. So many beautiful detail shots. Crisp splashes of color. Love is so evident between Erika and Tyler in these pages.

What a small, cozy world we live in! Cate discovered LifeChapter on Digital Wedding Forum, an international resource for professional photographers. Turns out we live within a few miles of each other! She loves the “Clean & Streamlined” style with liberal use of negative space. The finished album design provides an elegant story-telling approach to Kelly and Mark’s beautiful day.

Karla and Paul’s bridal party look so elegant, all dressed in black. Their wedding album design follows that cue, incorporating rich, classic black background, accents and detailed layering. Red splashes of color in their photography absolutely jump from the page. Even Karla’s lipstick is smoldering (beautiful!).

Angela & Michael – wedding album

One of my favorite weddings of the year. Yes, I admit to being partial. It was, after all, my sister- and (now) brother-in-law. I must dote on Ang who handmade her incredible bridal bouquet and Mike’s corsage from flower brooches, earrings and other pieces she unearthed at estate sales and vintage shops and that were gifted to her by friends and family. Her bouquet is so intricate, unique and beautiful, even Saint Louis Bride Magazine took notice, featuring it in one of their print issues. So back to the album… we took a clean, classic approach, allowing liberal amounts of white space to give the gorgeous images space to breath and to radiate. Congrats, you two! So happy we’re family!

Vanessa & JP – wedding album

Having previously designed Jon-Paul and Vanessa’s engagement album, it was incredibly touching to see their story further unfold on their wedding day. And what a heart-felt day… wow! They absolutely radiate joy. To visually represent the depth of their love for God and for each other, I incorporated complex layering and textures in the album. (Their e-album featured a gorgeous Harley. In this album, we’re introduced to their red-hot Camaro SS convertible. Sweet!)

Equestrian album

Joker, Sammy and Bud are all retired Chicago police horses that their adoptive mother, Uylaine, lovingly refers to as “My Big Boys.” She’s invested a tremendous amount of care and money into her horses. A professionally designed book fittingly represents her devotion to these amazing creatures (Sammy is 30!). It’s easy to see in these photos and through Uylaine’s own words how much she loves her “boys.”
